How to get your first client.

Here's the story of how I got mine.

I wrote to a writer of a magazine, to thank her for her article which inspired me in my choice of career. Although this author was not the editor of the magazine, and I made it clear this was not for publication, still it was passed to the editor of the magazine, who then published my letter!
A few weeks later, I was in conversation with a friend, and sharing with her that I was doing a coaching training, with a niche in career and business. Mid-convo she exclaimed, "Oh yes I knew you were into that, I saw your letter!"
"What?!" I was surprised and disbelieving. But no, she was sure she had seen the short letter in my name which said that I was training as a coach.
I was actually mortified. I was at that point, so uncertain, and afraid of what people would think, so hesitant, and so unsure as to how I would get clients.
In any case, there was naught to do at that point.
A few days later, I was in my local grocery and I met a woman I knew; we live in the same area. After a smile and "hello" she asked if I could coach her 20 year old daughter. "How did you know I was in this?" I could not hold myself back from asking. As you can guess, someone had seen my letter and told it to this woman.
This young lady became my first client.
As I write this incident, I am refreshed with the awareness that when we set ourselves in motion, we take the plunge; despite the naysayers. the fears and the unknowns, we have said yes. And G-d orchestrates happenings to support and propel our journey towards its fruition.
So yes, stay calm and focused as you embark and move forward with your specific agenda. Each day, I like to ask myself; what is the next best step forward I can do, in order to achieve my goals"
And the exquisite wonder of G-d's world is such that at the end of the day, I may have moved forward because things "just happened"
In my practice, I walk this journey through with many women who want to work in a way that fits with their strengths, values and circumstances. I work with women who are qualified coaches and are building their coaching practice. And we remain conscious of the real business journey; and allow ourselves to experience these surreal movements forward.
If you want to learn more about this and see if this journey is a good fit for you, feel free to contact me at info@petalscoaching.com. You can let me know what you've got going on, and where you are at. Because one thing I know; whether you are looking for that first client or your tenth or your 251st, there is so much expansion available for you. Can we afford to stay where we are?
